Tea gradually loses its aroma when exposed to four factors: light, humidity, air, and strong surrounding odors.
The basic rule: store tea in a cool, dry place away from direct light, in its tightly sealed original packaging or an airtight container. Avoid keeping tea near the stove, oven, or a sunny window — heat and light speed up aroma loss.
For loose leaves, like Himalayan Green Tea or Royal Black Tea, an opaque, airtight container extends freshness considerably compared to an open bag. Individual tea bags, in turn, keep their aroma better in the original box than loose and stored separately.
Following these simple rules, most VAHDAM and KYUFI teas keep their aroma well for many months after opening.
