Universal Commodities (Tea) Trading (UCTT), one of the leading tea importers in the North American market, announced on August 10, 2026 that it is joining ECOM Agroindustrial Corp, one of the world's largest soft commodities trading companies.
For UCTT, a business with more than 36 years of history, the move is part of a long-term succession plan meant to ensure continuity and preserve the trusted relationships built with growers and customers over the decades.
For ECOM, best known for trading coffee, cocoa, and cotton, the deal marks an important step in expanding its global commodities platform and establishing a more direct presence in the tea sector.
