Thai Nguyen, the northern Vietnamese province best known for its green tea, will host the International Tea Festival 2026 from 30 October to 7 November under the slogan "Thai Nguyen – premier tea". The programme was announced on 2 October, with Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang taking part.
The opening ceremony in Vo Nguyen Giap Square will also mark the province's 195th anniversary, and local tea knowledge is set to be recognised as national intangible cultural heritage. On 31 October an international forum will explore the path from tea heritage to the global tea economy, while the line-up also includes a street "tea procession" and a new heritage train service between Hanoi and Thai Nguyen.
Tastings begin earlier, from 10 October, across five growing areas: Tan Cuong, La Bang, Vo Tranh, Dong Hy and Dong Phuc. Organisers are putting organic, high-quality and sustainable production at the heart of the event.
