British organic herbal tea brand Pukka Herbs, part of Lipton Teas and Infusions, has entered the loose-powder matcha segment for the first time. The range comprises three organic products: a straight ceremonial-grade matcha plus two flavoured blends, Matcha Vanilla Chai and Matcha Tulsi Lemon. All are made from shade-grown, high-altitude leaf, use only naturally derived ingredients and contain no added sugar.
Two of the three products are already on sale across the UK and Ireland through Amazon, Holland & Barrett, Ocado and selected health food retailers, with the full range rolling out from October 2026. The company frames the move around matcha being one of tea's fastest-growing stories while, in the words of Lipton Teas and Infusions CMO Elle Barker, still feeling "exclusive or intimidating" to new consumers.
The launch reflects a broader shift. Matcha is moving beyond a niche product for Japanese tea ceremony enthusiasts and becoming an everyday ingredient that large wellness brands are packaging for a mainstream audience through flavoured blends and easy-to-prepare formats.
