Tea and baking shows have always gone together, and Plum Deluxe, a tea company based in Portland, Oregon, has now made the pairing official. According to a press release distributed on Monday via BevNET, the brand has launched a tea collection officially licensed by The Great British Baking Show, sold as a limited-edition tasting box on its own website.
The box holds 10 loose-leaf teas — one for every episode of the season — with two individually wrapped samples of each, for 20 samples in total, each good for one or two cups. Two of the blends were created specifically for the collaboration, while the rest are established favourites from the Plum Deluxe range. Buyers can pick a caffeinated edition, built mostly around black teas such as Honey Breakfast, Earl Grey and Builder's Blend, or a caffeine-free one featuring herbal and fruit infusions with chamomile, mint, verbena and berries.
Also included are a companion tasting guide with brewing tips and watch-party ideas, plus a printed recipe card for a Victoria Sandwich. The listed price is $18 for a single box or $33 for both editions. The launch reflects a trend that has become hard to miss in recent years: premium tea is increasingly sold as a themed experience rather than simply a product.
