Swedish roaster Löfbergs says it is the first large coffee roaster in Europe to bring Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) coffee to market. ROC builds on organic farming rules and layers on requirements for soil health, biodiversity and progress towards living wages throughout the supply chain.

The coffee, Löfbergs Honduras, sits in the company's speciality range. It is an Arabica grown at 1,100–1,900 metres by members of the Cafico cooperative, with notes of milk chocolate, honey and forest berries, and it carries organic, Fairtrade and ROC certification. It made its debut on 1 October, International Coffee Day, at Strawberry hotels across the Nordic countries.

The two companies are also funding a project with a Peruvian cooperative to scale up its organic fertiliser production, helping more growers shift to regenerative methods. Trial plots at the cooperative have pointed to yield gains of 10–15 per cent.
