The Netherlands-based IDH (Sustainable Trade Initiative) announced on August 11, 2026, at a sustainable coffee roundtable in Hanoi, the launch of its Resilient Coffee Program (RCP) — a four-year initiative aimed at scaling regenerative, verifiable coffee farming.
The program targets four producing countries — Vietnam, India, Colombia and Uganda — with a goal of reaching 300,000 farmers by 2030 and generating roughly 500,000 metric tons of regenerative coffee annually. In Vietnam alone, the target is around 75,000 farming households, close to 10% of the country's coffee-growing families.
Aldi Süd Group has signed on as the program's first confirmed investor, though financial terms were not disclosed. The initiative remains open to additional roasters, traders, governments and financiers, using a shared measurement and traceability system built on the SAI Platform framework.
