On August 14, 2026, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre hosted the International Tea Culture Forum, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) together with the Chinese Tea Culture International Exchange Association. This year's theme was "New Tea Creations, New Culinary Delights, New Horizons — Chinese Tea, Global Appeal."
Discussions centered on moving Chinese tea brands beyond simply entering foreign markets toward genuinely embedding in local consumer habits. Topics raised by academic speakers included technological innovation in tea processing, health-related benefits, and the strong resurgence of matcha as a globally sought-after ingredient.
A separate roundtable brought together brand founders and researchers to discuss export strategies and the modernization of traditional production methods. Organizers described this year's edition as an expansion of the 2025 forum, with tighter integration between producers, academia and industry. The growing global interest in matcha echoes what we see locally too — steady demand for premium green tea from the Premium Tea range.
