Qatari coffee brand Flat White has opened MIA Café by Flat White inside the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Doha. The café is designed as an extension of a museum visit — somewhere to slow down before or after the galleries, with specialty coffee and food on the menu.
The opening doubles as an anniversary milestone. Founders Maryam Al-Bader and Nasser Al-Naemi launched Qatar's first third-wave coffee shop in 2016, and the brand is now ten years old. It runs ten locations across the country and has featured in the international ranking of the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops.
The space aims to bridge the museum's original architecture with a contemporary take on hospitality — another sign of cultural institutions treating their cafés as destinations in their own right.
