US specialty coffee chain Blue Bottle Coffee has opened its first cafés in Thailand, debuting in Bangkok as its sixth market in East Asia after Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China and Singapore. The first location opened on August 21 at Dusit Central Park, followed by a flagship café at EmQuartier built around hand-poured brews and seasonal drinks.
The expansion comes months after Blue Bottle was sold by Nestlé to Chinese private equity firm Centurium Capital in March 2026, marking the brand's first major move under its new owner. Thailand counts more than 11,300 branded coffee shops, making it one of East Asia's largest markets for the category.
The company now operates more than 150 cafés across the US and East Asia, and industry watchers see strong growth potential for the brand in its newest market.
