Blank Street, the US coffee chain known for its mobile coffee carts and sage-green storefronts, has raised $75 million in a funding round that values the company at $650 million. The chain has now raised more than $200 million since launching in 2020.
The new capital will fuel further US expansion and support Blank Street's shift from a coffee shop into a broader lifestyle brand. Matcha drinks are playing an increasingly central role in that strategy, standing alongside specialty coffee as one of the menu's main growth drivers.
Founded in 2020 by Vinay Menda and Issam Freiha, Blank Street moved from street carts to brick-and-mortar cafes in 2021 and later expanded into the UK market. The round lands as matcha-based drinks keep gaining ground against traditional coffee among younger consumers.
